Song lyric analysis

I have chosen the song 'Run' by Jasmine Thompson, I am now going to analyse the lyrics are in the song. I have related the song to a boy called Jack so that it is easy to relate to.

The first four lines of the phone shows that the song is about someone, you can see this by the recurrence of the word 'you'. The song was clearly written about someone, for example Jack. From the lyrics you can see that Jack has a lot of power over the song as he has been mentioned in the first verse which is used to keep the listener interested in the song.

1. So tell me when you run, I want to run with you
2. Tell me where you hide, I want to come to you
3. Tell me where you go, I want to go there too
4. Even if you fall I will go down with you
5. I will be the one who comes to rescue you
6. Tell me where you go cause I want to be there too 
This verse is the chorus. The first three lines of this verse shows Jacks power over the song again, wherever he is, whatever he does, the song wants to do it also. line four shows that if he was to hurt himself, the song will want to do it as well, but then it changes in line five as it says that the song will rescue Jack after he falls, this reflects on line four because it says 'I will go down with you', he will be rescued when he falls. Line six then shows wherever love is, it will be followed.

This verse is then about the song itself, Jack has not been mentioned until line 2, this shows he is less important in this verse even though everything relates back to him. Line one shows that things have been kept away from Jack, line two shows that the song is scared of Jack, but in line three and four it relates back to Jack in a good way, as he has done good by sorting everything out and making the victim feel better. In line three it says 'I did exactly what you said' without reading line 2 and 3 because line 2 sounds like the song was made to do something it didn't want to do because of line 1.

This verse is about the power that he has. Line 1, 2 and 3 relate to each other where as they talk about Jack setting the world on fire, but in line 4,5 and 6 it then shows it is a good fire not a bad one, you can see this because it says in line 6 that there is no heat in the fire.
